Ron Paul finally speaks! (MSNBC)
Edited on Mon Sep-15-08 01:32 PM by ColbertWatcher
He is saying "we" are looking forward to helping people.

He even mentioned "federal money".

Does anyone know if the Constitution specifically mentioned federal money helping after hurricanes?

:sarcasm:

(EDITED TO ADD) P.S. Ron Paul is congressman for the Texas district that includes Galveston.

3. And he's such a tool.

He has built his reputation on "Libertarian" (read: GOP-lite) ideologies and now he is faced with reality.

I wonder how he will consolidate the two.

The way they idolize this dominionist, paleoconservative loon is sickening.

10. They're misguided idealists.
They read Ayn Rand in HS and can't wait for Angelina Jolie to star in Atlas Shrugged (//www.imdb.com/title/tt0480239/).

4. Yeah, I know.
He's gonna have a little struggle with that cognitive dissonance that's gonna slap him in the face, if it hasn't already.

11. Ron Paul in 2006
"Is bailing out people that chose to live on the coastline a proper function of the federal government?"

"Why do people in Arizona have to be robbed in order to support the people on the coast?"

13. I will give him credit for predicting the housing crisis back in 2002
http://www.house.gov/paul/congrec/congrec2002/cr071602.htm

But of course it's different when it comes to his constituents. I hope someone throws his words from 2006 back in his face.

15. The repugs (aka the looters) didn't care for his proposals
but as a member of the house finance committee, he does get to kick Bernanke in the balls on a periodic basis. There are some amusing youtubes out there.

Lots of people predicted this five or even more years ago. What did anyone do?

16. "What did anyone do?"
I posted a poll earlier asking Who bears the most responsibility for the economy? and it seems the blame is goes to "the weakened regulatory agencies".

Gee, I wonder who weakened them?

Perhaps that's what people did: weaken the regulatory agencies!
