Some Florida women's group thought they could boycott Oprah...Yeah, that'll work! |
Sorry I didn't get their full name but they're repug Palin fans and just furious that Oprah says she would be glad to have her on the show after the election, not before. Oprah, rightfully, contends that she has already committed and made public her support for Obama, and feels she would be disingenuous to have Palin on. Anyhoo, the ladies want Oprah's magazine subscribers and viewers to boycott the show. Well, viewership is way up and there has been no impact whatsoever in the cancellation of subscribers.

1. Laughable. But they'll claim it worked anyway. |

7. I'm sure they're all patting each other on the back and telling everyone who will listen |
about how they went to the mat with the Oprah juggernaut and fought tooth and nail to the bitter end, etc. Oprah, meanwhile, is blissfully unaware of how close she came to economic ruin... ;)

8. Oprah's household income is probably about the same as the |
state of Florida's annual operating budget. I don't think a few female fascists from Florida is going to give her any heartburn.

11. maybe the fundy evangelical influence is waning or |
maybe corp America is fighting back, because I remember a time where the mere wiff of a boycott by these types would send everyone running for cover. There are a bunch of examples, but one i (sort of) remember is Whoopi Goldberg being removed in a nano second from a diet product for some bs or other. I think this was back during the 04 election.
