It's a mess in Cincy too from what I hear. They are calling electrical crews back from Texas to help around the Ohio Valley area, according to the Courier Journal.

"Roughly 279,000 people, or about 75 percent of all LG&E customers, were without power in the metro area last night, more than three times as many as during the 1974 tornado."

2. Saturday was the rainiest day in Chicago's history.
6 inches fell in 24 hours. Fortunately, Sunday's rain didn't hit our area as hard as forecast.

3. Looks like the
'shitins have finally come home to roost' for Bushco. Pity so many innocent people have to suffer.
No one in their right mind could have told me that there would be such economic and post-Ike chaos this Monday morning.

4. West of Cleveland, we had BIG winds last night.
Half of Westlake was without power this morning...three schools closed.

10 miles southwest, they still don't have the power on and it's looking like it'll be another couple of days before they do.

5. proof, as if more is needed
It's so rare for so many hurricanes to go that far into the Gulf, and for places like L-ville to sustain those kinds of winds, but lo and behold it happens more and more. And the fundies say Global Warming doesn't exist.. tell that to the millions affected by it.

8. How do you get through?!
Talking to repub coworkers this morning.
They were shocked that Ike affected Louisville, Cinci & Columbus (we have field people there, also in TX).
So I said, it's only going to get worse.
Usual responses:
1. No such thing as global warming
2. If there is, it won't be proven until my great-grandchildren are on earth
blah blah blah
