Price per barrel of oil is now below $100. Down about 41%. And our gas is at... |
|
$3.99 per gallon in NE Ohio. What the fuck? Yeah, blame it on Hurricane Ike. They are fucking liars, greedy liars all of them at the oil companies. That sat their and fucking lied in those senate hearings (hell I think it was Biden's hearings) and they LIED LIED LIED about how they needed those profits. What they are charging for gasoline today is CRIMINAL.
What prices are you seeing in your neck of the woods?

SO glad that A) I filled up last week at $3.59 and B) it's bike weather for the next few days, at least.

You go south of Canton into the Amish country (parents in law live there) and it is about $4.15. On I-77 I saw four places at $3.99.
Sorry Cleveland sucks for prices even worse. Matches our sports teams success this weekend.

11. Ah, yes, Cleveland's always been a little pricier than in Summit & Stark. |

For cigs too, I noticed when I was still a smoker.
And there's nothing wrong with the Browns except for their knees and achilles tendons. :patriot:
Being serious about the gas for a moment, though, I think the reason that oil prices spike at times like this are because of speculative investments driving the prices. It's also a function not necessarily of the oil getting cheaper, but the DOLLAR getting cheaper. It's always been that way - in the '70s OPEC would announce a price hike and the cost at the pump would go up the next day even though the new, pricier oil wouldn't even be gasoline in the US for another 6 months. That's capitalism, we're really all at the mercy of the investor classes.

7. In East Tn. i think it's about four and a half bucks for a gallon of super. |
|
Which is all they have in my area.
Only reason i knew the current price is because I asked. They don't even post the prices anymore on the sign. I also asked when a delivery might be made. I was told by next weekend, hopefully.
One thing i did notice, they spiked the price two days before the storm hit Texas. It went up by a dollar or more in one afternoon.

|
Edited on Mon Sep-15-08 08:12 PM by Stuart G
there is plenty of gas. Orders will go out to lower it at the end of the week. I recall at it's hight it was 4.30..So, it is only down 5 per cent from its absolute high. Now they don't give a damn about us in Illinois..guess who our Senators are? that is why..
But I still say, and will say it again......in a few weeks it will be under $3.00 everywhere except here.......Want to help Mc Idiot get elected..

14. Still have shortages. Didn't look today -- it ranged from about $4.05 to $4.69 in the |
|
Asheville, NC area yesterday. That's when you could get gas -- a lot of stations are out of it. The local paper today actually listed stations that currently have gas -- bet a least half of them don't now!
According to the local crappy ABC station (Sinclair), prices were mostly about $4.19 today. It's Sinclair and they suck so I can't vouch for the accuracy. The paper also had an article about seven NC stations that were being investigated for price gouging (none in this immediate area but 3 in western NC) -- those prices were up to as much as $5.49/gallon.
