Breaking: Palin won't meet with 'Troopergate' investigator
Edited on Mon Sep-15-08 07:52 PM by Contrary1
Republican through and through.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A campaign spokesman says Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin won't speak with an investigator hired by lawmakers to look into the firing of her public safety commissioner.

McCain campaign spokesman Ed O'Callaghan told a news conference Monday that the governor, the Republican nominee for vice president, will not cooperate as long as the investigation "remains tainted." He said he doesn't know whether Palin's husband would challenge a subpoena issued to compel his cooperation.

The campaign insists the investigation has been hijacked by Democrats. It says it can prove Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan was fired because of insubordination on budget issues -- not because he refused to fire a state trooper who had divorced Palin's sister.

22. Troopergate's tawdriness will give it staying power
Most Americans find it difficult to get worked up about flagrant violations of the Constitution.
But give 'em a sleazy, soap-operatic scandal that they can personally relate to and they'll talk about it for ages.

That's what's wonderful about so many of Sarah Palin's offenses. Oh sure, they bring up troubling questions about dishonesty and abuse of power. But above all, they're cheap and obvious. You don't need a law degree to understand them. They're just the sort of stuff that you'd expect from a corrupt, small-potatoes politician who's trying to over-reach.

23. I hope they continue to stonewall
Independents and leaners like full disclosure, especially on such an unknown.

If they cooperate, they can drag their feet and extend it past the election. This just makes them look guilty.

she's doing great on her training. Whenever a commitee wants to talk to you, run in the other direction. Just like her idols, rove and cheeny.
