He has been traveling all around Mass. taking part in events billed as "Kerry on your Corner.

6. My point is, he shouldn't have to.
Yes, I know everyone can run against an incumbent, but what's the point? Money gets sucked up in a pointless political effort. Money that could go to getting Obama elected.

from some people who call themselves Democratic's. They gave the opponent enough votes at the convention to run and they did this out of spite. However, I am not replying to you or posting this good luck post to start trouble with those who supported the opponent in one way or another.

28. True - many were angered that he endorsed Obama when he did
This was a way to "punish" him. They obviously did not care that it also kept him from being as active supporting Obama as he could have been in the last month or so. His convention speech shows why we need him out there for Obama.

46. Clinton DIDN'T let you down when he supported and defended Bush throughout his summer2004 book tour?
McAuliffe didn't let you down when he refused to secure the election process in the entire four years after 2000s theft?

Carville didn't let you down when he sabotaged Ohio Dem voters on election night?

Kerry did what he did in 2004 with most of the best known Dems supporting Bush publically and Kerry let you down?

If anybody knows what a great and airtight case you have always made for him--- and YOU know that I admire and support all good Dems (of whom he is in the top tier)---I do.

Now, besides all his correct positions on issues and all the things other Dems did wrong for him, HE bears his own share of HIS outcome in letting the election be enough of a squeaker to be stolen.

I know you've defended his striking back at the SwiftBOTters, but FOR ME his version of striking back just was not the OUTRAGE that I felt and needed for him to SHRIEK. Sorry, I'm not subtle, and it takes SHRIEKING to get the sleeping masses' attention.

Besides that, you know that I am a contrarian here among my DUers and among my fellow Dems everywhere, so frankly, I really do believe he lacks the common touch and just didn't have the carnival barker skills to reach more people, more than just us Dems who will be out there voting anyway.

This extends to Teresa, too. He didn't come to my area, but she did, and I went excitedly to be at the rally, and the crowd was excited. All she had to do was to get on out there and yell some slogans about screwing Shub, but she didn't. The crowd went wild when she came onstage. She PEERED at us over her glasses, looking thoroughly puzzled by our low class enthusiasm, like we were aliens from outer space. When she finally quieted us down, she launched into reading a DEADENING 45 minute policy speech. While everybody in the room was a committed voter, we all trudged out afterwards feeling totally deflated.

Dearest blm, you know how I admire you and regret that all of your undeniable facts will NOT capture the "x" dimension of what makes a good candidate.

As for one or both CLINTONs, I have been disappointed by them, too, but they have more of the lowly grit that successful candidates have. Look how Hillary was blindsided with her top dollar advisors during the primaries, and before that how she messed up getting health care through, which my mother died waiting for the CLINTONs to deliver.

Anyway, I know you are more FACTS and I'm more EMOTIONAL INTERPRETATION. Love ya.

61. Saw your post aka message
Never mind the crickets.

I can't speak for blm, but Kerry has taken full, sole responsibility for his campaign, which I guess will never be good enough for some. Your post may be an opinion, but it's not a fact.

There have been plenty of people that have been posting ad nauseam what Kerry did when the Swifties made the rounds. There is a DU research forum that lays it out. I think you are letting the media, Dem surrogates, and people like McAuliffe and Carville off the hook and choosing to blame only Kerry.

And there have been fellow DUers from the Kerry group that have met him and Teresa in person that have a different view of them, and her. They say she is nothing but gracious and far from the caricature that the media portrayed made her out to be. She may have had an off night, (we all do), but there seems to be a different view from their angle.

And Kerry got more votes than any other presidential candidate in history.

I love Obama, but I am getting bitter (no pun intended) about people that continuously take potshots or put down Kerry to praise Obama. A lot comes bitterness from 04. No, I am not a concern troll or attention seeker, but attacking one of his best surrogates does not help our cause, it certainly doesn't help Obama's. It only helps the GOP when we throw our former nominees under the bus to promote Obama.

I am for spreading the truth about Democrats, not buying or falling for foolish media spin about our candidates.

62. I answered the personal parts of your post in a PM to your PM
I don't blame "only KERRY." In my book, every nominee gets only one shot at the prize, and whether "losing" or letting it be so close that it can be stolen, means BLOWING IT. STEVENSON is the last one who got two shots at it, and the 2nd chance was a throwaway.

There is NOTHING in my post that says that KERRY and Teresa are BAD people or UNGRACIOUS or anything else like that. Although she started out as a Rethug in a past life I believe she is just as good an excellent Dem as he is today. You appear to miss that I PERSONALLY SAW her performance, and what I said was that the two of them DID NOT REACH more voters than us, the ones who were going to vote anyway.

When our nominees don't take the prize for whatever reason, I always look for a new face for NEXT time, and I suppose this sounds like "blaming" KERRY or GORE or whoever. It's like what LETTERMAN said about MONDALE's losing for senator: "He came back for one last ass-kicking."

As for your insinuation that I am "buying or falling for foolish media spin" --that's a lazy way of flaming, to accuse somebody of spouting somebody else's talking points. Really, I don't stay up all night memorizing e-ltrs from KKKarl or CARVILLE or Keith.

Spouting talking points applies to SOME people, but it should be clear that it doesn't apply to somebody as contrarian as me.

You and I and all DUers need to spend our time and energy attacking wingnuts, not one another.

34. Good luck to the Senator
Senator Kennedy made robocalls that were placed tonight according to some MA people strongly arguing that people return his friend and partner to the Senate. He is very highly favored.

His opponent told the Boston Herald last Saturday that he will win due to low turnout and him getting his people out. He likely is hoping people will not know there is a primary - in spite of Kerry's ads and the calls from Kennedy.

Kerry has the endorsements of most of the papers - including liberal ones like the Boston Phoenix. He even has the endorsemnt of his opponsnt's home town paper. O'reilly did get a tepid endorsement from teh Lowell Sun the paper that smeared Kerry in the 1970s for Closon and which hstes him still. Kerry has the endorsement of all the unions. Kerry has the endorsement of the Bay State Stonewall Democrats, HRC (GLBT), and NOW. Kerry also has the endorsement of Patrick and I think the entire Congressional delegation.

Especially nice is knowing Senator Kennedy was making calls tonight. Honestly, I would love to see Senator Kerry not only win, but do so in a massive way. I am hoping for a great turnout tomorrow in Senator Kerry's favor.
And, one endorsement that I was surprised at was the BG. It was good to read they really do understand what an excellent and exceptional Senator they have in Senator Kerry.

44. There were only a few polls putting Kerry way ahead
The only concern is that people will consider it so much a landslide, they won't vote especially if there are no other contested races. Rassmussen put Kerry's chances at winning at 99% - and they were speaking of both this and the general election race.

Kerry has been doing a lot of campaigning this month - here's a link to the web site of a blogger, who has made some great video's showing it.
http://www.jkmediasource.org/home

His opponent was telling the Boston Herald that he would pull off an upset because few people would come out to vote.

A lot of times they vote against their own best interests. And then you have to be concerned about those who don't bother to vote or those who figure their vote won't count or it doesn' matter.
I would love to see him win this in a major landslide. His opponent has been no better than a Repub. in the way he trashes Kerry.

66. He can get a lot accomplished in the Senate with President Obama and a
60 vote Democratic Senate.

As for counting the votes in 2004, he was advised by experts that there weren't the votes there to overtake Bush. There was a period of time as I understand it that he was considering a challenge but Carville got on the phone to his wife who was at the White House watching returns with the "boys" and mentioned what Kerry was considering. The next thing you know, Rove is involved and a call is made to Blackwell- SOS in Ohio. The next thing you know many the number of outstanding ballots disappeared and evidence was being hidden or destroyed. I too think Votes were stolen and disenfranchisement was rampant. However, I never blamed Senator Kerry for not challenging the vote. The country would not have been sympathetic and the challenge would have amounted to a mockery. We gained more with the Congressional hearings held after the election.

67. Yes, there's never any shortage of alibis, is there.
No matter how badly they behave, there are always people ready to forgive them and enable their next transgression.

68. There was no bad behavior on Senator Kerry's part. If he thought he had a chance he would have done

all he could have win. He ran to try and change the course America was on, don't you think he was devastated when he didn't have the votes to take Bush out of power?

69. Like a battered spouse, or the mother of a psychopath, your darling can do no wrong in your eyes
But that doesn't mean you're in touch with reality. Sorry about that.
