What are the pros & cons of absentee ballot voting?
I will vote using an absentee paper ballot again this year, its an incredible pain in the ass to go to the polls in a wheelchair, so I use the incredibly easy absentee ballot.

One advantage besides the ease of voting from home is the fact that you get to vote earlier than everyone else. And its on paper, but I don't know if that's an advantage or not, when it comes to counting votes.

I heard that they are stacked up somewhere and counted after Nov. 2nd, but don't know if its true.

What are your experiences if any with absentee ballots? And you don't have to be disabled to get one, there are many other reasons to use one, which I'd like to hear too.

1. The only con I see is no "I voted" sticker.
Otherwise, it's fairly easy and hassle free.

2. I voted absentee in 2004 - it was great and I plan
to do it again this year. If you vote absentee, you're able to help out in other ways on election day.

There is a website (paid for by Obama) to help people register and vote.

This website actually suggests voting by absentee ballot.

Finding out how to vote is now quick and easy.

Using this tool you can:
1. Register to vote.
2. Request to vote absentee.
3. Find your polling location.

This should only take about 3 minutes.

To get started, what’s your name?

Are you registering to vote overseas?

Looks like a good place to register to vote, or verify your current registration.

5. The state of Oregon has been voting by mail for years now
And they love it. Liberals, conservatives, everyone loves it. You can vote from your kitchen table after reviewing the ballot and able to actually take the time to know what issues you are voting for or against. You don't have to stand in any lines and maybe run into that person you have been avoiding or trying to find a parking spot or just plain having the hassle of going to a voting booth. don't have to worry about IDs or arguments or anything. Oregon also has one of the largest "turn outs" in the nation. what does that tell you?
