John McCain’s running mate is an unlikely model for the £45 Double Dare shoes from the Naughty Monkey label, whose edgy styles usually target the 20-something market.

But perhaps the same women who have copied her smart up-do and rimless specs appreciate the devilish touch these red shoes can bring to such a prim image.

Double Dares have almost sold out in Los Angeles and online orders have doubled – just as those trademark specs have been flying off the shelves, with manufacturers working round the clock to keep up with demand.

While I don't think Palin is ugly (although she is to me, due to character) I certainly don't think she's "hot".

She wears a shellacked hairdo, her glasses are way out of style, she has a huge jaw, looks cross-eyed and continually surprised.

And her children look like they came from one of those Appalachian "feed the children" commercials. Now I'm not picking on her children or saying they're ugly. They just look very neglected and depressed.

It's a pony tail that's pinned up like a french roll. I found it to be a practical way to wear long hair at work. A beehive is a high combed up do that was popular back in the late fifties and early sixties. It took a lot of teasing and a ton of hairspray to fashion it. Remember Flo in the series "Alice". That's a beehive.
