Anthrax suspect Dr. Ivins last will and testament revealed

http://www.fredericknewspost.com/sections/news/displayUpdate.htm?StoryID=80258

As many people do when they write their last will and testament, Fort Detrick researcher Bruce E. Ivins left instructions for his family to cremate him and scatter his ashes.

Ivins felt so strongly about it that he devised an insurance policy of sorts -- a financial incentive -- do as he asked or it would cost his family $50,000.

He would give that amount to the Frederick office of Planned Parenthood, according to Ivins' will filed with the Register of Wills at the Frederick County Courthouse.

"I have very strong wishes concerning the disposition of my remains after my death. I direct that my remains shall be cremated and my ashes shall be scattered or spread on the ground but not buried. Under no circumstances should my body be buried. I do not want a funeral, but a memorial service may be held in my family's discretion."

Ivins died July 29, an apparent suicide. Days later, he was identified as a suspect in the anthrax attacks.
