Fuck! Piss! Shit!!!

goddamn it to fucking hell in a hand basket!!!

the fucking asshole fed can puke up $70 fucking billion dollars to shore up banks failing left and right (even when then just said they weren't going to bail out anymore banks), but yet when it comes to helping people, you know, the ones that basically keep this country afloat. The prols, the plebes, joe six pack, soccer moms, worker bees, the rest of us, we can all go fucking swing in the wind!

They can't get fucking food and water to those people down on the frigging coast?????

just think what $70 billion dollars would do for those people. Generators, water trucks, MRE's, temp shelters, beds, soap, toothbrushes, clothes, etc.

The problem is we learned from Katrina, but the feds did only not learn a goddamn thing, but it's more business as usual. Meaning, fuck the people.

However we were the dumb ones, we thought, "they couldn't fuck up twice could they? could they????"

fuck man, what in gods name has become of this fucking nation?????

:banghead:

hard to top in the 'important job' category, but does the govt. give me any help? A break? Are you kidding? Do you know I couldn't even write off MOVING EXPENSES, because I wasn't moving for a 'job'? Bwahahahahaha, I can only laugh bitterly.

13. Yep. My dad taught political science, and he talked about military benefits - everything
from VA hospitals to the PX - as basically being the dreaded SOCIALISM... but most pro-military people, and military themselves, think the S word is the same as the f-ing C word. Argggh.

28. I...can't...hear...you... I'm driving my car.
I'm clicking "buy it now".

I live in Arizona.

Who cares about them?

Actually, it's even worse. I didn't spend the time looking for news coverage because I don't watch tv. But from what I've heard, there was no coverage.

It never happened.

Nobody cares!!!!!

I post about Troy Davis being executed on the 23rd. He's quite possibly innocent. I get a dozen replies and a few more recommends. Like nobody gives a shit.

I call around to see if some of my old school friends are even thinking about voting, and I get shouted down. They aren't even registered. President of a petroleum refinery corporation. An engineer. A professional recording artist. They don't give a shit.

I'm pretty god damned upset today. And do you want to know why? Because as bad as the apathy for civic duty is concerned, the global environmental situation makes it look like kiddy play in comparison. We think the Wall Street meltdown is a big deal. Well it isn't. Not compared to what's coming. 9 degree temp rise from the news today. That's big news.

But nobody cares. In fact, I lost a lot of love for George Carlin when I discovered that for whatever reasoning, he didn't vote. You can't complain if you don't play the game.

Sorry, I had to get that out. But it answers your question. They know nobody's home here. Only a few of us. Maybe half the nation at best. Pathetic.

It can change. And it might. So aside from my cynicism, there is hope. But it isn't in our immediate future. It's going to take something really big.

36. Yeah. If it makes you feel any better,
I sent the links to the Houston tv station streaming the best coverage, and the Reuters page covering it to a bunch of people. It shows extraordinary corruption on the part of TV broadcasters not to cover all of it, including the horrors on Bolivar peninsula. I would have liked to have heard more urgency from Obama as well.

40. Oh, the Bushies learned something from Katrina, all right.
They learned that politically-speaking, a horrific natural disaster and the Bushies letting it drown was VERY bad PR and they clearly were not prepared for anything to come so close to briefly puncturing the Bushie False Reality Bubble of Lies and MisInformation.

NOW, as we see they are prepared. The problem wasn't the Bushie-Led M$M getting out of control. The problem was the Bushies neglecting to control them fully during Katrina. Think of it as a remnant of Old America that lasted longer than most...the idea that reporters should have full or close to full access to a domestic disaster area.

Not anymore. That is a 100% certainty.

The Bushigandists handled Ike with their usual ease. 5 deaths. Just like when huge disasters used to happen in the Old Soviet Union. 5 deaths

I am not laughing at the tragic dead nor the disappeared dead (probably number in the low hundreds, I would guesstimate...there's no way of knowing) but at the insanity of living in what is essentially a more materially-wealthy version of the Soviet Union in so many ways and the similarities growing closer every day.

They learned something from Katrina. Oh, as with everything in this newfangled Inverted Totalitarianism, which carries so much of the fake window-dressing as we try to pretend we were what we were 1945-1980  , the "plausible deniability" factor means that most of the surface truths of Bushie incompetence (though not the disappeared dead...they are gone forever for they died in a totalitarian tyranny, guilty of the crime of being poor, black, and with no one to speak for them) eventually come out...just too late for anyone to give a shit because we are three years down the road.

They learned.

41. How about this?
The bailout of AIG costs more than all of the money allocated to help poor women and their children over BOTH TERMS of W.

As Dirksen said: 'If you owe the bank $10,000, you have a problem. If you owe the bank $1,000,000, the bank has a problem!'

42. Yup, that's the Dubya regime
They were all excited over a hurricane hitting New Orleans again because that would be a PR nightmare if we had a Katrina repeat there. But other parts of the coast? Screw 'em. Note that the news level is very low about the problems in Galveston and Houston. I live in TX and I have co-workers at our other offices there, so I have been hearing a lot more than I've been seeing even in the local papers. The bottom line is that people there are pretty much stuck fighting for whatever non-existent services and supplies are out there. The folks to took off for a state park and are camping are actually much better off than most of those who stayed or who went to a shelter.

Seriously, I think we all did expect they could fuck up twice. It was only a matter of time, and how spectacularly they'd do it.
