Here is a preview:

http://www.wthefilm.com/

I can't fathom any movie making Shrub look good, on the contrary - maybe it will paint an accurate picture of how the f@ck an idiot made it into the White House? Some in the bubba culture may identify with W, but who will see the movie?

This election is, in part, a referendum of the horrendous and failed policies of Shrub over the past 8 years. Now just 2 weeks out of the election (10/17/08) - we get this new Oliver Stone flick. It may not make even the slightest dent in voting outcome.

Though I do wonder will "W" play into the change message and remind folks what happens when an idiot inhabits the house on the hill.

1. It's going to bomb, big time.

If if makes him look good (which it won't), the only people who will go are the 20% crowd, and there's just not enough of them to make it a hit.

If it is critical or neutral (which, by nature, is critical), I doubt people will want to go. Frankly, I'm just sick of him and want him to go away. I don't need to spend two hours and $10 reminding myself how much I despise him.

2. I hope it doesn't portray him as a tragic figure...
Beaten down by opposition.

Many people pity a tragic figure, if the presentation is romanticized. That would mean votes for McSame.

3. Don't think I'll see it.............
but I do find the idea of Rob Corddry as Ari Fleischer to be intriguing.

4. I fear it may "humanize" the drunken coke-fiend of a sociopath.
But, I haven't seen it yet, so that's all just speculation.

Oh, check out these comments!!

"Stone has neither the courage or integrity to confront just how pernicious and deceitful the last 8 years have been..."

"W the film is a distraction, best left ignored..."

"Neither the Kennedys, nor Bill Clinton, nor maybe even Richard Nixon have come anywhere close to the depths of chicanery and degradation of the government on George W.'s watch..."

6. I find it difficult to believe
that any movie pretending to be authentic can take someone totally uninteresting and make them interesting. George W. Bush is a stupid arrogant blah.

8. I fear it will be an excuse for the GOP to cry liberal media bias allowing real issues to be ignored
Just another fake controversy to distract the media and fire up their base making wingnuts fear that the media is out to get them.
