1. my question is, if AIG has a trillion dollars of assets...
why are they sweating a loan of $40 billion?

2. They don't have assets of $1T
at least, not anymore. And that's the problem.

And $40B won't fix anything.

5. Most of them are using their money to bail out their own banks

many of which had exposure to Lehman Brothers... some of them stand to lose Billions...

Shares of some Japanese banks fell over 10 percent yesterday. Japan's central bank injected $10B into their banking system to shore things up.

Last year, the Europeans injected over $100B into the world financial markets.

And yet, despite the 100s of Billions of bailouts and cash injections, the crises persists.
