My heart aches for Galveston
It's where my daughters and I spent our last real spring break family vacation (oldest daughter's senior year in high school) in 2004. I am glad we got to experience/visit it before this happened. Just standing in their Walmart parking lot and looking at the gulf view made me wished I lived there!
It will bounce back. Not soon enough, but it will. Anyone who has seen the film they show down there of the hurricane in 1900 knows the area/people will rise again.
The first three pictures were taken on our ferry trip. The last was a tour boat we took that was docked near the aquarium.

2. Sadly all I ever knew about Galveston was the hurricane in 1908.

3. We were there in 2004 too.
I'd lived in Texas most of my life, and hadn't been before, so I scheduled a real vacation for reprehensor and I.

We stayed at the San Luis, drank fruity drinks, went swimmin, walking on the beach, shopping on the Strand, had lunch with Lisa0825 at the Mosquito Cafe, and drove into Houston for antiquing in the Heights and dinner with the PDitties.

I was heartsick Friday night. Still am, although I know the city will rise again.

6. I can't contemplate the pain and suffering
of everyone who has lost loved ones, pets, homes, jobs and a way of life. This will shatter lives. Hurricane PTSD is real. Hugs to all who are suffering. :grouphug:
