Is DU nearly, completely hosed for you too ?
Geeez ..... I can barely get my toe through the door ....

I see no one else complaining, so I am assuming it may be my end ....

So .... Is anyone else experiencing problems getting DU to comply ?

Any 'Failed To Connect' messages ?

When it does connect: Is it coming up in HTML, with images and elements missing ?

Yeah ... That's me ....

2. Yes, and it's very frustrating.
Just about everything I click on results in the same connection failed message you're getting.

3. yes, it's barely functional for me right now
Lots of failed to connect messages, lots of really slow hourglass action. Replying to this post took about 30-40 seconds before I could actually start typing.

Apparently you aren't the only one. There's probably a lot of traffic leading up to the election.

9. I've been getting that for at least a week now.

Sometimes it just loads half the page and then stops. I think it's due to high traffic but I'm not a computer person.
At least I know it's not just me.

31. Yes, it's getting worse.

Maybe denial of service attacks? The place has been crawling with troll lately. I think they've switched to plan B.

19. I noticed the new version of Firefox ....
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 10:01 PM by Trajan
Will linger in the task queue after I have closed the application ...

It has hung up a few other sites : I have been having to delete it manually ....

My performance improved, but it is still whacked out buggy ....

I guess we will have to live with this until mid November ...

25. I thought so. I just got 3.0.1 on the weekend
All of a sudden, I'm getting slow or incomplete page loads and connection errors.

Other than that, I like the new version.

I suspect that most of the people here on DU are not having a Issue loading DU, or any other web sites.

27. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a calculated denial of service attack by right-wing hackers.
What would surprise me is that right-wingers would even know how to do it themselves. They would have to outsource it to India.

constant page load errors. I even got one when I hit the reply button to type this reply! It seems like I have to hit the reload button on every page, because it refuses to come up the first time.

36. Working fine.
Suffered a few wi-fi disconnects, interrupting YouTubes viewing there, not here.

'Failed to connect' means your request did not make it to the destination, not necessarily that the destination failed to connect you.
