RNC Claiming Hub is a Repug-Begging for Money
Text of letter he received today:
Dear Friend,
I don't want to believe you've abandone the Republican Party, but I have to ask.. Have you given up?
Our records show we have not yet received your Republican National Committee membership renewal for the critical 2008 presidential election year.
As the Treasurer of the RNC, I know our Party's success depends directly on grassroots leaders like you.
So I am surprised and concerned especially because I know how generously you supported President Bush and the RNC in the past. You helped to advance our vision for America and elect Republicans at all levels of government.
I know other things come up, and perhaps you've just been delayed in renewing your membership. If that's the case, I understand.
But we've not heard from you this year-and I hope you haven't deserted our Party.
Your generous financial assistance and active involvement are more important than ever as we work to elect a Republican president and Congress.
There is so much at stake. The Democrats are determined to put a liberal like Barack Obama in the White House, expand their narrow majorities in the US House and Senate, and push our country to the Left with their agenda of high taxes, big government and weakened national security.
Big Labor, radical liveral protest groups and Hollywood elites are planning to spend more the $500 million to defeat Republicans and aid the Democrat power grab.
The RNC relies on the voluntary support of Republican activists like you.
They go on to talk about how much to donate and how hard they are working to prevent the power grab and then this:
If we fail to hold the White House and make gains in Congress, the Democrats have made clear they will overturn every reform you helped President Bush achieve.
Democrat presidential candidates and the Reid/Pelosi run Congress have promised to repeal the Bush tax cuts, retreat from the war against radical Islamic extremism and increase the size of government through their one-size fits all health care plan.
WE CANNOT ALLOW THEM TO SUCCEED.

More blather about how important he is.

My husband took a marker and put "I am a life long Democrat you IDIOTS" on their return paper and mailed it back. What I am concerned about is if their computors show him as supporting Bush and giving to the Repug Party, what else do their computors show? And how much control do they have over voting machine computors? And, how many people will mistakenly give money and mail it back without actually reading exactly what it says?

I received a letter from them a couple weeks ago and did not give it a thought, just threw it away. My husband and I are not just Dems, we have done volunteer work at the polls and given service to the Democratic Party through work for them in other ways. So why would the RNC have us listed as supporters of them?

1. I just checked the envelope. Address was wrong.
It was addressed to the old Rural Route number that was changed over 5 years ago when our area gave out actual number and road addresses for 911. Could it be they thought it would be returned to sender and they could then challenge our right to vote?

2. Just remember this:
If they ever send you something with a postage-paid envelope, you can tape it to a brick and put it in your mailbox. They will have to pay for the postage - and it will get your point across more than any words can.
