I'm serious... I really have never liked the man and always thought him a bit of an idiot, but it all seems much more exaggerated lately. He doesn't LOOK good and he sounds even worse. What the hell is wrong with him?

10. He and his pretentious entourage were last sighted clogging up emergency routes around Galveston,
IIRC. Saw a photo of him with a map in front of him. And he had his blue "I'm werkin HARD" shirt on with the sleeves rolled up, of course. Didn't notice if he had it buttoned right or not.

From the look on his face, I'd say he never bothered to learn to read a map, and he's not putting up much of a pretence, either. Just standing there looking like a man who finally, at long last, realizes he's been had.

6. I think it's a degenerative brain disease after years of brain pickling
through alchohol and drugs. In his case it's not the late nights, since we know he and Laura are in bed by what? 9 pm isn't it?

Also, the many falls off his mountain bike have probably addled him a bit. And finally, I'm sure Cheney has kept his intestines twisting with one of those mideval torture devices during sessions of Cheney playing his fantasy role as Vlad the Impaler...power, the ultimate aphrodisiac....

(I may be slightly beyong the realm of certainty on that last point, but close, I'm sure)

8. I wish I could sympathize with him.
But his policies have pretty much destroyed this country and his legacy.

What I find odd is now well Cheney looks. After 8 years of personal profiteering and war mongering, he's actually looking better than he did in 2000.

19. If I remember correctly, Nixon was like Cheney that way
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 12:06 PM by MotorCityMan
It can be pretty shocking how much aging the presidents go through by the end of their term. Looking at pictures of the presidents at the start and end of their term a good indication of how stressful the job is.

Nixon was a definite exception. He seemed to thrive on it. He did not look all that aged by the time he resigned.

As for *, I hope he never knows a peaceful night's sleep for the rest of his miserable life. I hope he is haunted every day by his "legacy". I hope Karma smacks him upside the head big time. He thought he would enjoy playing pretzeldent, having everyone bow and scrape to him ("That's MISTER President!") but it turned out to be much, much more than he can handle, and way too much like work.

I don't think he is, though. I think * is a total sociopath. It's only about him and how it affects him. Nothing else matters.

That's what it appears to me to be. He's at the end of his run, he's pretty much irrelevant anymore, so he's just climbing into a bottle and going to become comfortably numb.

20. The Bubble bursts
Reality is finally getting through the famous Bush Bubble. You can really see it in his appearance now. The swagger is gone from you know "our first MBA President". His decisions and policies have created chaos on the national and world scene. Don't believe his comments about being vindicated by history. He knows for the rest of his days he will be mocked and ridiculed for what he has wrought on this great country. Remember how in the first nine months of his presidency he was completely adrift? People were beginning to notice. Then came 9/11, a rude awakening for him and the rest of us and the beginning of this dark journey we now find ourselves on. Read the next to last paragraph of the Aug. 6th, 2001 PDB handed to him a month before the attack. In it the FBI clearly stated they had detected what appeared to be preparations for hijackings. He ignored the stark warnings he received that day. He has failed his country. It is written all over his face.

23. Actually, he was just about the most articulate I've ever heard him
in a clip played on The News Hour with Jim Lehrer either last night or night before. He was talking
about the price of gas and the hurricane effect on the pipeline. Full sentences. No scrambled
syntax. I was astonished. Of course, the bar is pretty low for Bush, but damn, he sounded like a normal person.

who knows what's really going on with his health. We know he's probably drinking pretty heavily again, as evidenced by the pictures of him where he looked falling down drunk in China.

29. Even a self-centered, megalomaniac jerk can realize....
...that he has managed to destroy our country.
While idiotic, he is no idiot.
Even if he "did what he believed" history WILL NOT be kind to this man, and he knows it.
Gotta say, when I saw him last on TV, I actually did feel sorry for him. He looks like he just wants to get the heck outta there.
