How Can We Make National Healthcare Look Like A Corporate Bailout |
|
If we can do that, then the govt will fund it.

1. Well, isn't it one of the reasons GM claims it has to do layoffs for? |
|
They say that $4000, IIRC, of the cost of every car is due to health care costs for employees and their families. So in a sense it actually is a bailout for some industries.

The country, as a whole. does not save anything if business is required to pay for health insurance for its employees. It only makes them less competitive with foreign businesses, and as a result, jobs are loss. If Government takes over the cost of providing health insurance, some jobs will return, and we would all be better off. There will have to be a slight tax increase, but most people wouldn't mind. I would favor a consumption tax, however, I heard Ben Stein, who is quite conservative, advocate a 3 1/2% across the board income tax increase for everyone, which is feasable.

"if business is required to pay for health insurance for its employees"
And more and more, they don't.

7. No tax increase is required at all. Cut out the insurance companies |
|
and we are already paying more than we need to to insure everyone.
But of course, that makes far too much sense and would hurt the parasite class, so it can't be allowed.

9. Insurance companies going bankrupt. Time for singlepayer |
|
Geesh. We just gave $85 bil in taxpayer funds to bail out (& takeover) AIG, the biggist insur. co. in the world. Why not just start with that & take the healthcare part & run it. Pick up the rest as they go under. Roll them all into medicare for all.
It looks like the insurance companies took the premium money anyway & gambled it away.
