I have a feeling . . .
. . . that if two intentional country-ruiners like McCain and Palin somehow stea . . . win this selecti . . . election, there's going to be a lot of realllly pissed off Democratic voters.

I'm not talking pissed off as in "I can't believe Bewsh got elected AGAIN!"

I'm talking pissed off as in civil war-level angry. As in "find the nearest McCain voters, get into physical confrontation with them" angry. Yes, it's going to come to THAT. And it's going to be ugly.

Considering the horrible situation that nearly 28 years of uninterrupted Republican general governing, oversight and economic policy has placed us in at this present moment, one finds it dumbfounding that anyone making under $100,000/year could possibly consider two relative economic dilettantes are the best people to lead us out of this. Especially considering the 72-years-ancient McCain has been anything BUT the most drooling, ball-gagged, compliant Bewsh ass-kisser of the past 8 years.

Yet, I have this creepy feeling that people are going to look at this economic plunge into the abyss and, by some labyrinthine logic aided by no bread crumbs will deduce that "we need someone with 'xperience to get us outta this mess!". Never mind that McCain's brand of "leadership" is what got us into this mess in the first place. We're not dealing with rational human beings here.

We're dealing with people who are just looking for any shoestring, threadbare excuse at this point NOT to vote for Barack Obama.

Logical and well-thought out reasons TO vote for McCain are slim. Challenge a neo-conservative to come up with a reason without mentioning the names "Obama" or "Clinton" and he fails almost instantly.

IS there a straw-breaking-the-camels-back point for at least a FEW of these people? IS any conservative McCain die-hard looking at all of this lousiness surrounding him that's only destined to get worse FINALLY going to have that microscopic light bulb go off in his head?

IS there a chance that more than a few conservatives might vote with their wallets rather than their guts?

Or is civility going to get tossed out the window starting November 5th?

2. I think that this election is the last chance that..............
real change can happen peacefully. If McCain wins I think all bets are off and the only outlet the disenfranchised will see left to them is violence.

6. Frankly I don't see how. Neither BO or McSame is even talking about anything
close to the measures that real change will require.

I've been going through the Obama blueprint and none of it changes anything, more like minor tweaks to existing, fundamentally flawed, systems. Basically pouring more $$ into corporate coffers in an attempt to bribe them into being less horrible.

11. America is a sloooooooooooooowww learner.
1. We go after the wrong people. As much as we make fun of France, at least they went after the aristocracy and make their government fear THEM, rather than the other way around. As long as we have electronically-induced comfort comas, docile fat Americans take the money-fisting like champeens.

2. Obama is a gateway. Yes the system is fucked beyond repair (see problem 1). Yes, if you're looking for a miracle worker in either campaign, you'd better keep looking. But with him, at least there's somewhat of a chance to fix things long-term. With McClown, you may as well plant a bullet to this country's head, because it will be far less painful than watching it die a slow, pluto- and theo-cratic death.

3. I'm losing hope that a true progressive will ever gain The Oval Office. I don't think the corptocracy would let him live six months. Nothing stops with these guys. They're a country club that we're not allowed in, and pit all of us against each other so we won't know that we're being fisted.

12. #3 summed it up IMO. We're the only thing that can stop them and we are too busy playing their game.
Once the four legged Greyhounds shuffle off their mortal coils we're outta here. It looks like the only option left to us, as the only difference in national control seems to be how fast we drive off the cliff.

I've fought and warned and protested and written and called and done it all over again for 30 years and it's time for someone else to take it, or not, I just want to watch it in peace from a safe distance.

Good luck.

3. We can only hope America will be that angry and that every guy tossed in
prison isn't now a Blackwater soldier.

4. The conservatives don't have much left in THEIR wallet to vote on!
As much as we all whail about all the criminal activity on Wall Street, and OUR 401K's dropping, you have to remember, the largest segment of people invested in this disaster are the PUBS! They too have seen their investments shrink by a LOT in the last several days, and there's no end in sight! If THEY vote their pocketbook, Obama will win in 49 States!

5. I was thinking the same thing
If they try to steal this again, I think people will take to the streets in a display of "people power," especially if the economy keeps on the road to collapse.

Every time I see McCain he strikes me as hopeless, bumbling, pathetic figure, too old to be running for president. I find it very hard to believe that he's doing as well as he is. His campaign is a mess. He can barely keep his thoughts together, and mispeaks constantly. He changes positions every other day, lies frequently, and has given us no plan for anything except "I know how to fix it."
I just do not belive he could win an honest election.

9. THAT's a bumper sticker.
Next to McCain's confused face, put (thanks Freeway Blogger)

Name ONE reason to vote for him. ONE.

But they'll all instantly fail the test given above, because they cannot give a reason without mentioning Obama's name. They'll never be able to list a reason that's a 180 from the Bewsh methods. It's all the same old crapola.

8. I said to some friends on Monday, if anyone takes our guns away, it will be the GOP.
They will be too afraid of angry Americans to let the 2nd amendment stand. Democrats will not take away private gun ownership, but the right wing fascists will do so in a heartbeat.

13. Don't kid yourself, there's plenty of fascists on both sides. That's how we got here,
this didn't start in 2001.

Peace & luck to us all.

14. What makes you think Democrats will fight THEN?
When have they been willing to fight before? Certainly not when Clinton was being impeached, or even as recently as the anti-offshore drilling act. Face it. Democrats are better whiners than fighters.

Now young people...when they start getting hungry and cold and desperate...the ones who don't have a party or a cause...THEY might fight. They may develop the capacity for getting angry and doing something about it. But political correctness and compromise has made official Democrats impotent.
