... in uniform.

Does this violate UCMJ?

(CORRECTION) Technically, the ad supports the "surge". But this is technically a "support GOP" ad.

4. I don't know
but I do know they cannot endorse a candidate...But I think they can pan one...

I don't think the ad is that effective, it looks too much like a commercial for a news show coming in the future, so I at least tune it out immediately like I do all commercials...

4.1.2.3 Allow or cause to tbe published partisan political articles, letters, or endorsements signed or written by the member that solicitis votes for or against a partisan political party, candidate, or cause. this is distinguished from a letter to the editor as permitted under the conditions noted in subparagraph 4.1.1.6.

4.1.2.6 Participate in any radio, television, or other program or group discussion as an advocate for or against a partisan political party, candidate, or cause.

4.1.5. Activities not expressly prohibited may be contrary to the spirit and intent of this Directive. Any activity that may be reasonably viewed as directly or indirectly associating the Department of Defense or the Department of Homeland Security (in the case of the Coast Guard) or any component of these Departments with a partisan political activity or is otherwise contrary to the spirit and intention of this Directive shall be avoided.

There probably more, but I don't type real good.
