If you were running for president, and you had to pick a VP ...
... what would you use the vetting process to discover?

Obviously, the GOP's VP pick was not vetted. Many people have noticed this and commented on it. But, if you were in the same position, what would you use that opportunity to accomplish?

To pick someone you like?

To pick someone who agrees with you?

To balance out the regional appeal?

DU, what would you use the vetting process to discover?

1. Anything the opposition could use
I would think the best course of action would have been someone who had been vetted before for a prior office or political position.

2. That's why I would have picked Hillary - there is nothing left that is unknown
about her and Bill - it's all been said and picked over previously. I think her tenacity and strength would have been an asset - she's a 'street fighter' and I admire that.

Biden is a good choice too - lived a very public life - not too much that needs explaining - so no distractions from the 'issues' - he's also strong and opinionated - just the way I like them.

4. Make sure there weren't any surprises that couldn't be handled.
Pick someone that wasn't going to go behind my back.

Pick someone that could work with Congress.

Pick someone that had credibility.

Pick someone that brings an alliance with other groups.
