Why all the Sarah Palin threads?
Is DU smitten with her, too?

The last I looked we were still running against Mad John. It's about Mad John and Obama. Not the second string cheerleader Mad John brought along as a distraction.

1. That's really not true.
The idiot public will vote for the ticket that impresses them the most.

And it's very clear that Palin is the one getting their attention.

15. she's here to stay.. media is covering for her..no mention of the $600 mill bridge to 7000 people or
her scandal hocky rink.. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122065537792905483.html

"snip...Ms. Palin marched ahead, making the public case for a sales-tax increase and $14.7 million bond issue to pay for the sports center, which was to feature a running track, basketball courts and a hockey rink. At the time, the city's annual budget was about $20 million. In a March 2002 referendum, residents approved the mayor's plan by a 20-vote margin, 306 to 286. The city cleared roads, installed utilities and made preparations to build....snip

...The only catch was that the city began building roads and installing utilities for the project before it had unchallenged title to the land. The misstep led to years of litigation and at least $1.3 million in extra costs for a small municipality with a small budget. What was to be Ms. Palin's legacy has turned into a financial mess that continues to plague Wasilla....snip"

8. Seems closer to a year.
Wasn't it only three weeks ago they nominated her?

Can we please get back to politics? I'm tired of American Idol.

9. It's only been the last week since GD: P has not appeared to be General Discussion: Palin.
I think Republicans love our obsession with all things Palin because it is a distraction and misdirection from the real issues.

18. Because....
She's the new toy on the block. All the other ones have been seen or used before. Oh! come on -let us play with her.

Also - and, more seriously, it helps us vent our frustrations at this totally unqualified candidate.

22. Then there's reality
Palin is the one we are running against and that's because of her own party. We are not the ones making pubs leave rallies after she speaks. We are not the ones donating more money for her then for McCain.

Yes in truth it is Obama vs. McCain; but the reality of the situation is that in the political world of hearts and minds, she has replaced McCain as the front runner.
