Revolution is in the air... let them fall... after all it would be glorious (sarcasm)
It won't affect me, or perhaps we'll finally get some street justice and the socialist heaven we need...

:sarcasm:

Lets leave the reality of an economic crash and how that will affect you,

I've been dreading a civil war for some years now, and this small economic crisis may prove to the be the catalyst, but for all of you dreaming of the glory of the coming revolution let me share some stories, from real civil wars, and fairly recent ones as well.

There is Raul (not his real name... to protect his identity ok)

He was thirteen when the army came through his town. His town had mostly kept out of the mess, as they were in the boondoggles, and they didn't really know who was who in the zoo. Well the army came in one morning... lined all the people who were of military age... or near military age... like Raul. They told them that they had two choices... join the army or else. Well, some folks said no, amongst them his father... because they didn't want no problems and they were needed to harvest the fields. Well, the army drove those recalcintrant fools over to a ditch and machine gunned them... now Raul... he signed on the dotted liine and went off to the army camp. He spent the next five years of his life in the army where he was forced to do things that are war crimes under most circumstances... but we just took the testimony realizing that he was a child soldier, forced into it... he spent the next three years in a refugee camp, dealing with his nightmares, a lost family, and learning how to adjust to civilian life.

Then there is carlos (again using a fictitious name). He chose to fight with the guerrilla. And one of the first things he had to do was skulk in the death of night to ahem kill the cacique. He drove his knife through his throat, and heard his gurgling sounds as he died. There was no scream since he was good enough to catch him by surprise. After the cacique was dead he, and some of his pals, took the family to the yard where they proceeded to rape the women folk and kill their animals. After all they were getting even. Then they proceeded to kill many others in the town, and burn the crops, and kill the animals. It was an orgy of violence that left that town unable to feed itself and the survivors were forced to leave to refugee camps.

Of course there is Karla... (again not her real name) she was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. She watched as her daughter AND SON, raped in front of her, and then they raped her. They beat them pretty badly too... and she does not know who exactly was behind that, just rough men who spit on them, beat them, used the butts of their rifles... and even brooms... Lets just say that she had her private parts removed as an emergency... and her daughter, not that I can blame the kid, was no longer speaking... she was a mute. Did I mention her husband was taken to an undisclosed location and she's never seen him since? My bad.

Then there are patricio and Herrero, you know the drill by now, about names... they were driving to a combat zone to evac the wounded. They came to an army checkpoint, and they were forced, at gunpoint to transport troops. The enemy fired on them, killing most of the troops, and severely wounding both of them, Patricio died from his wounds, and Herrero survived, but was tortured. Of course, he also says that if they had refused the army would have tortured them anyhow. The last time I saw him, he was still very much a broken man, feeling guilty about not saying no to the army lieutenant.

Of course there is the ambulance crew that was destroyed under mortar fire... both the army and the guerrilla say that it was the other side, to this day... so who knows who did it? The crew is dead.

Then there was the street justice dealt to guv'ment or rich types, taken to the center of town and tried by people's courts, and then shot or hung (that is from the Russian Revolution)

Of course those are stories of civil war... I'm not even going into the economic cost, or the cost to infrastructure... in an American civil war it would also be horrendous. It was in these places and they are still recovering.

I offer these as examples of what happens in those glorious revolutions and why it is better not to go there.

By the way, those are some of the stories that keep me awake at night... some of the stories I've heard from actual survivors from those glorious revolutions.(Not the Russian Civil war, but you get the picture) And if you think this would never, EVAH happen in the US... I suggest you read on the civil war and Sherman's march to the sea. That may give you a clue, and not the cleaned up stories, but you can find diaries, for example.

1. It is necessary to ignore the reality in order to maintain the dominator model.
If people know the reality of war, they don't want them and they sure don't want to fight them.

4. In France back in 1789, they would chop the heads off of aristocrats using the Guillotine.
Eventually, they would say that those slated for execution had "un rendez-vous avec Madame Guillotine."

6. Screw it, what ever happens will not be influenced by comments made here.
The current state of affairs is tenuable at best and not sustainable in any sense. The chickens are gone, the fox got them. Those who have faith in the promise of the eggs best sleep in the coop and be ready to fight because the possums and 'coons are coming.

The well has been sucked dry and there's rats in the corn crib, it might be time to move on to a different dream and rebuild from the ashes. Those responsible for this mess have already done so. If following their lead has worked in the past, why stop now?

Just for shits and giggles.
