PLAY "STUMP THE CANDIDATE"
Let's play "STUMP THE CANDIDATE"

Palin offers to play “stump the candidate,” but game doesn’t happen
http://blogs.reuters.com/trail08/2008/09/17/palin-offers-to-play-stump-the-candidate-but-game-doesnt-happen/

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said on Wednesday she would be ready to deal with foreign policy if she and John McCain win the White House and offered to play “stump the candidate” to test herself on specific policy issues.

In their first joint “town hall meeting” with Palin taking questions from voters, an audience member asked Palin to dispel concerns that she lacked foreign policy experience. She responded by saying she expected critics to look for things to attack. “I think because I’m a Washington outsider that opponents are going to be looking for a whole lot of things that they can criticize,” she said.

As for foreign policy, you know, I think that I am prepared and I know that on Jan. 20, if we are so blessed as to be sworn into office as your president and vice president, certainly we’ll be ready,” Palin said.

“I’ll be ready, I have that confidence,” she said. “If you want specifics with specific policy or countries, go ahead and you can ask me, you can even play ’stump the candidate’ if you want to, but we are ready to serve.”

3. Question 2: Sarah, where does the sun rise?
"You know, that's a question we've been gettin' from a lot of people, people who are tryin' to play 'stump the candidate.' And it's interesting, because what with me bein' a Washington outsider 'n' all, people keep trying to figger out whether I know where the sun rises. But I can tell you, that if the day comes when we are blessed to be inaugurated as president and vice president of this great country, I will be ready. If you want specifics, I'll be givin' 'em to ya. I have that readiness, and when I am vice president, I will be ready to tell you anything. You'll be able to go ahead 'n' ask me, and I'll tell ya. I will be all about the readiness. It's like that there guy Shakespeare said: 'The readiness is all.'"

But Sarah, you didn't answer the question. Where does the sun rise?

"You know, it's interestin' you keep comin' back to that question. Now, some people might say that you were tryin' to trip me up with that question. Tryin' to make me look bad, because I'm from a small town or because I'm a woman. And you know what I'd say to that? I'd say they're right, because it's completely sexist to keep comin' back at me like that. And to have a problem with me because I'm from a small town--well, all I can say is that I am like people from small towns all across America who are hard-working and patriotic and the salt of the earth and--"

Sarah, cut the bullshit. Where does the sun rise?

(Pause as McGrampy takes her aside and whispers in her ear: "SAY WHAT I SAY WHEN STUFF LIKE THIS COMES UP!")

"Uh...I'll have to get back to you on that."

4. RAPID RESPONSE from Palin-McCain campaign:
We find asking Gov. Palin "science" questions to be sexist and demeaning. It is a well known fact that women do not have a head for science, and the question about the sun was clearly asked in order to make Gov. Palin look ridiculous.

6. It was not only sexist and demeaning,
it was asked without the proper deference.

How disrespectful.

8. She lives in Alaska. The sun rises in the south, once a year, for 10 minutes.
Which is why she bought a tanning bed right after the unfortunate incident where she went nutty and ate every female virgin in Wasilla (all three of them).

5. Nothing happens by chance if it shows her in a "good" light.

The question was a plant... and came at the very end of the event.

Palin got her "stump the candidate" crap out so the TeeVee would have it as a sound bite and leave everyone with the impression that she is just so ready to answer questions... any questions... oops we are out of time and need to be leaving... thanks for inviting us here!
