Bailouts? Why Not Bail Out Credit Card Debt Too, Dammit?!
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 07:28 AM by MannyGoldstein
Why do only The Predator Class get bailed out when they do an "oops!" with our money? I'm going to write my Congressman, Barney Frank, and suggest that he also cut all credit card debt by 1/3, except for people making more than $250k per year. Frank happens to chair the financial services committee which is overseeing our bailout of The Predator Class, and which also regulated credit card companies.

If you're tired of being financially sodomized by the banks, while their investors get trillion-dollar bailouts, then you might want to write your congressperson and tell 'em what you want - a second email to Frank wouldn't hurt either. It take one minute, so do it now!

1. I'd like my mortgage refinanced
down to the level of what my property is now worth. I have no credit card debt at the moment.

2. I need to pay some bills by credit card this month
because we are flat broke. This is something we've almost never had to do before, but it's been a tough summer.

But the fucking mortgage company, car loan company, phone company, etc., all make our situation much worse by charging what they call "courtesy fees" of up to $15 for having the nerve to pay our bills with a credit card.

I don't recall ever having to pay ridiculous fees like these or the ever-growing bank fees when Bill Clinton was president. This is something that started when the rethugs deregulated everything and let corporations gouge consumers in every way possible without fear of penalties. I've gotten so fed up with banks that I once sarcastically told an assistant manager, "So how much is the fee for breathing your air?"

3. i talked with a bankruptcy attorney
who has lost business since biden`s disaster was unleashed across america. he was optimistic that the democrats would repeal some if not all of that law. it`s been devastating to his business and to his clients seeking relief. he said it`s only going to get worse.
