That's who needs to be responsible for paying off this Wall Street debt that all of us just bought.

3. Every person (man, woman, & child) in this country 'owes' about $32K on the debt.
Before Bush leaves office the debt will reach $10 trillion. We are borrowing money to the tune of $1.8 billion a DAY. This debt is one of the contributors to our financial meltdown. The corporations that will benefit and 'Wall Street' itself should be heavily taxed to pay us back for our 'loans'.

4. Right. They are the only ones in a position to fork over the dough

and they are the ones who benefited most from the plundering and pillaging in the first place.

Heck, let 'em pay it back over time, but they need to carry the burden on this.

5. That seems like it would be the commonsense solution
but every time that point is made, some con will say, "But if you do that, the very rich and all the big corps will all leave this country and there'll be no jobs and no money invested here!"

So, is that true? Or is that just BS so that the ordinary person will just keep bowing down and paying for bail-outs like these? How do you counter that argument?

And it seems like to me there's plenty of factories and jobs leaving the country (with tax incentives, even). And what percentage of investment money is from American sources and what percentage from outside this country?

The fatcats play fast and loose and the little guy gets stuck with the bill, I don't see any other explanation for it. Your solution sounds fairer than what the cons are proposing, that's for sure.

6. Of course it's pure, unmitigated bullshit. For now, and that is the purpose of all this.
They need to delay long enough for India and/or China to build enough of a market to sell into. Fortunately for them, we are so ignorant we will let our last chance pass by without a thought.

10. It's an empty threat, because they all do that anyway.
every time that point is made, some con will say, "But if you do that, the very rich and all the big corps will all leave this country and there'll be no jobs and no money invested here!"

Give tax breaks to the corporations that create jobs in America, and penalize the ones that go offshore.

7. Communist!!!
Don't you know that the rich making their millions and billions is the best thing for the country and the rest of us struggling is just nature? :sarcasm:

If you tax the rich then they won't want to make money anymore and our country will die!! Don't you know that? That is what all the Republicans are saying!!:puke:

8. How is McBush going to justify the tax cuts for the wealthy and the
corps now? Did that selling point just disappear for him?

9. Problem is they have no patriotism and would just move offshore
That's the one thing we all keep forgetting. We can only tax so much before the shitheads jump ship.

Fact is, we should be positioning ourselves as the patriot party! Not the party of the multinationalists.
