3. They should be prosecuted that's for sure.
I haven't really seen anything much about that. They aren't any different than the Enron people. Just as greedy, just as crooked. They need to be in jail where they can't hurt any more people.

7. Their assets should go to one of two places.
1. To help pay down that debt the gov't. just took on, or
2. To help people get their mortgages rewritten so they can afford their homes.

Also, the people who lost their home already due to this mess should have the option of getting it back with the same kind of deal as the ones facing forclosure.

20. During the S & L scam I recall a commentator's portrayal...
of the cost to the average adult American. He said, You, your children and your children's children will, in effect, be paying for a 10 room house for their entire lives
BUT never get to live in it!

Why should AIG give you space or a place to take a leak, you already have a 10 room home
(albeit not yet paid for) and another one on the way that the jpaks, when the dust settles, will be paying for till the end of time.

Wait a minute, I forgot, you don't actually get to use those homes, you just get to pay for them.

14. I want them joined by every "deregulator" in DC...
They (Democrats/DLC & Republicans) were sent to Washington to represent "The People".

If ANY deregulator tell you that they really thought the Corporations would behave without oversight is a Lying Sack of Shit.

The Democratic Party is a BIG TENT, but there is NO ROOM for those
who advance the agenda of THE RICH (Corporate Owners) at the EXPENSE of LABOR and the POOR.

Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 11:16 AM by nichomachus
During the Cultural Revolution, they took the parasites, put dunce caps on them, and drove them around in the back of dump trucks filled with manure.

I think parading these crooks around the country in shit-filled dump trucks for a year or so -- like sideshow freaks -- would have a salutary effect on us, if not them.

 But a nation of cowards and criminals doesn't revolt - or even THINK about a General Strike. We have the government we deserve. (God help our children and grandchildren. They should spit when even mentioning our names, and piss on our graves.)

25. You can't have a general strike without unions
This is why it was necessary for them to destroy unions.

The move to destroy unions started with the passage of the Taft-Hartley act during the Red Scare that followed WW2.

Taft-Hartley allowed unions to exist, but required them to purge themselves of anyone with "leftist" leanings. So, they did. Unfortunately, these were the heart and soul of the unions and their best organizers. In the power vacuum that ensued, their places were taken by opportunists and, in some cases, crime elements.

In the wave of prosperity that followed the war, the right-wingers planted the seeds that people were so prosperous they didn't really need unions.

Ronald Reagan was elevated specifically to destroy the unions and delivered a crippling blow by firing all the air traffic controllers. It's been downhill ever since.

Anyone who tries to strike right now will simply be fired. With hundreds of thousands out of work, it is a small matter to replace them. There is no protection for anyone who doesn't come to work.

18. I agree--why are they allowed to keep their billions of $$$$
and we pay?

They didn't pay their fair share of taxes to begin with. They are leeches on society. We need to seize their assets. And, if I truly had my way, they, their spouses, mistresses, and children would be placed into perpetual servitude until the debt was paid off!

21. It's the Golden Rule thing
Those with the gold make the rules,
I thought everybody knew that.

------------------------------------
This is what extremely grieves us, that a man who never fought
Should contrive our fees to pilfer, on who for his native land
Never to this day had oar, or lance, or blister in his hand.

Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 02:21 PM by TahitiNut
... when they OWN the lawmakers! Thus, nothing to ENFORCE.

Remember... a "justice" system is not automatically "just" ... especially when run by the privileged, for the privileged. You might as well be asking the King to jail his son for raping your mother. Ain't gonna happen. (That's why God invented REVOLUTIONS.)
