Christ, what is it going to take to wake some of these folks up?
The AP has a story today that most Americans would prefer watching a football game with Obama than McCain. Jesus, our economy is going to hell, and the American dream is long forgotten. But yet, it would be really cool to watch football with Barack. Christ, is that what we're voting about? Stupid, stupid Americans.

7. The war profiteering benefits too few of us to continue. Cheney's earned enough by now. |

Yes please, let's leave. Let the Iraqis use their 70 billion surplus to rebuild as they wish. We have done far too much damage already.

put the Bush, Rice, Rumsfeld, Cheney, et al family fortunes into the pot to pay for the mess they got us into. After all, they got themselves a good bit richer by getting us into this crap.
Third, liquidate Halliburton, New Bridge, Blackwater and all those firms that went from teetering-on-bankruptcy to megacorporations across the taxpayers' backs on ill-gotten gains, no-bid contracts from cronies, waste, fraud and every other form of theft perpetrated in this misbegotten invasion. Attach every thin fucking dime wherever it can be found on the entire planet, even if we have to shake down Switzerland and Dubai with force to get it back. Both countries are complicit with known war criminals and deserve no mercy.
If American citizens are no longer accorded privacy, then known war criminals will be accorded none, either.
Fourth, try the lot in the Hague for war crimes. The evidence for guilt is monumental and stinking. There is no excuse for either war criminals or mega-thieves to be walking around - yet there they are, both kinds at once, walking around loose, still stealing your tax dollars and mine daily, still ending innocent lives for oil and greed.
Wall Street wants to play rough and laugh?
Hide and watch. America is just getting riled.

I'm predicting riots in the streets if something doesn't change soon, and/or the election is stolen by the Repukes again.

that they can kindasorta hold down a few protesters in a single city. We saw what went down in the twin cities. We see what's going down in Houston and Galveston. We remember what went down in NOLA.
We know as well as they do, and they know as well as we do, they they can't hold us all down at once, nor in any significant numbers.
Vouchsafe that straight to your heart.
I have a sneaking suspicion, though, that some of the worst offenders are already "taking extended vacations" abroad and may forget to return when (not if) the mess they've brewed finally does implode. I've been saying for years now that when they've exported our jobs and our dollars offshore where we'll never touch them again, they will likely follow once we've no longer the means, the money or the will to pursue them. They won't give a damn and we'll be too busy trying to figure out how to eat without eating one another.
What'll be left behind sitting with us in the smoking remains will be the cast-off toadies in the form of bigbox rapcha-preachas and pet-kook right-wing senators, who will probably be among the first to be lynched by their own erstwhile star-struck fans when they recover from their koolade binge after receiving a cold dose of hard-knock reality. In Switzerland, Dubai and Paraguay, the über-rich will be sipping mimosas, muttering platitudes about "collateral damage", smugly relieved they aren't the ones getting lynched.
On this side of the aisle, we saw every bit of this coming 30 years ago and it's playing out word-for-word, page for page.

Wars are fought most often for economic advantage. That advantage is now gone, if your ideology is financial gain there is no longer a financial gain.

19. That should be number 1 on the list. I'd rather see no bailout, |
|
let the corporations pay for the mess. They've got enough of my money, your money and everybody else's money to clean up their own backyard.
