and handing it over to the very corporations that helped cause the economic crisis we're facing.

The United States is handing over billions of dollars to for-profit corporations that have brought down our economy.

Even sadder, we're not even printing the money. It's not going into circulation - it's being pulled out of thin air and placed into thin air. It's as easy as typing a bunch of numbers on a keyboard and pressing "send". There's nothing tangible backing up the value of these numbers. $50 billion here and there. It has no value, other than in its promise to repay the debt. The recipients of these numbers have demonstrated no ability or intention of repaying, so that's worthless, too.

The numbers in our checking accounts are judged the same way as these numbers. I don't see how the dollar can do anything but collapse under its own weight. Sorry, but our monetary system is not sustainable. If anybody's played this out to a different outcome, please speak up.
