The rich cannot saddle the middle class with their bad choices....
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 11:17 AM by LeftHander
This buy up of the "toxic debt" by the Feds is BAD for America.

Basically the FREE MARKET needs to clean up it's own mess.

This is a huge handout to large investors and will no doubt pad the already wealthy with extra cash and takes all the risk out of banking. This REALLY NEEDS to NOT HAPPEN! THE GOP is using FEAR again to manipulate public policy to the upper crusts advantage.

Make no MISTAKE....it SETS A BAD PRECEDENCE.

Let the bad banks fail let those making the bad deals be held accountable. And create a NEW DEAL recovery of infrastructure and innovation.

We are being manipulated!! The last act of a failed nationalist government is to rob the people.

That is what is happening.

7. They are killing the goose that lays the golden egg.
I don't know if they are so stupid as to not see that or if their greed is so all consuming that nothing else matters, but our economy depends on a healthy, vibrant middle class. This will bite them on the butt, have no doubt. It will bite us harder, however.

8. it's actually good for us and the Treasury..
For one most Republicans oppose this because they hate government intervention in the economy, even if beneficial.

Secondly saying the free market will just work it out doesn't fit well with the fact the free market got us into this mess.

The reason this is good for the Treasury is that they basically invested money in AIG who will then be forced to sell off their assets and the Treasury will get back its money with interest.

The Treasury will likely receive a $100 billion boost.
