That's short-selling..aka oil speculative trading...corn commodities futures trading..etc

and that, children, is why we are paying $5 a gallon for milk..$4 a gallon for gasoline, $6 a box for cereal, and $5 a lb for most decent cuts of meat..

selling stocks on the "margin" (borrowed) created the Great Depression, and it's what's driving our current "difficulties"..

WWII got us out of the Depression..and our one-of-a-kind industrial base..

What will get us out of THIS one??

We no longer are the industrial Giant of the world...Europe & Asia are not rubble from a long war, and our economy now is 70% comprised of us "servicing each other".. Buying cheap foreign shit, trucking it all over the place, stacking it in place and selling it to each other..or doing each other's hair & nails...or serving meals to each other, or cleaning up after each other.....nothing at all like the strong industrial base that built our way back from depression...

And a lot of the people who are "buying" those services are doing it with borrowed "plastic money"...and many are barely keeping up with the minimum payments on that debt..
