Just wondering, do VPs release those?

2. Thomas Eagleton did, and was quickly gone
Once the news that he'd been subjected to electro-shock therapy hit the stands, he was gone, baby gone from the McGovern ticket in 1972. If Palin has undergone treatment for depression (not uncommon, and in this day and age with a more enlightened electorate not that big a deal), there will surely be a lot of public discussion about fitness for office, particularly if she's still on medication or still treating.

And what's wrong with depresssion? don't demonize something common
to make some odd point...

Eagleton == that was in the stone age, when people (like us... supposedly) weren't enlightened.

Besides which... if she is "depressed" the connection is undoubtedly going to be made to seasonal affective disorder, which has more to do with sunlight and lack thereof, i.e. living in Alaska. And that's where I heard it via the tanning bed article.

Leave this one alone.

5. I definitely do not mean demonize depression in any way, my point is...
do we, as voters, have a right to know what her health has been and is currently?

6. Depends on how severe it is and whether a person also goes into
manic states. I have a friend with very severe manic depression combined with other things like anxiety that becomes paranoia. It's very serious. My friend has a lot of strange ideas. In my opinion, so does Sarah Palin.

3. When will McCain release his medical records?
I'm talking about releasing ALL of them to the American public, and not just putting some of them on display for select members of the media for a few minutes.

4. yeah they do release them typically
I don't think depression would be a big issue anymore, even if she was on some medication. I would hardly hold it against her. Now if it was Biden or Obama who had a history of depression and was on medication the RW would go nuts, but the rest of the electorate, I think would identify with it, if anything. Only the RW base cares about that stuff, and they already worship Palin like sheep, so I doubt it would cause much of a stir.

7. Depression is usually not a big deal, but sometimes it can be.
It depends on how severe and how chronic it is and what other problems are present. Palin has held office for a number of years, so presumably she has functioned acceptably during that time. That is an important consideration. Who hasn't been depressed as a result of some event in life? That's within the range of normalcy.

9. Isn't there a lot of depression i Alaska?
Sorry, my knowledge of Alaska is only "Men in Trees" deep. In Eagleton's case I think he had shock treatments. Probably today his physician would have prescribed drugs.
