Did anyone, Democrat or Republican anticipate this financial mess? |
|
I am talking about years ago when it all started. Did anyone in Congress stand up and say "We need to address this important issue" McCain says he did two years ago but I don't believe a thing out of his mouth. Did Obama have anything to say about this issue two years ago or Kerry? If no one spoke out then I would say the fault is equally distributed.

2. McLiar lives up to his name on this. I'm sure someone has the ThinkProgress video of it. |
|
But lots of people predicted it. What you "would say" isn't relevant to jack shit.

6. Hell EVERYONE saw this coming! |
|
I am standing around at work a few years ago with a bunch of engineers talking about these weird loans, increasing housing costs, etc. One guys says, "What happens when it all goes belly up?" and my boss says "Guys like me will come in and buy the homes dirt cheap then flip them in a few years". You did not have to be Warren Buffet to see this coming. They just played until the last second and see who gets caught without a chair when the music stopped.

...most of the Dems voted against the Glass-Steagall repeal, which was the main cause of this nightmare.

8. What would have happened |
|
...if the Dems had also voted against the conference report which brought the House and Senate bills into agreement?

...but they would have looked better on paper.
Remember, the Clinton administration supported this as well. Once Bill was on board, it was basically a done deal.
Anyone who was paying attention and not in the pocket of the FIRE industry knew how this would end up.
Unfortunately, we were all shouted down by the growing mob of "free market" zealots.

12. That implies the repeal of Glass-Steagall was never their concern |
|
I feel sick.
Thanks for the answer, though. I always prefer the truth over feel-good lies.
