bush KNEW this was coming & did NOTHING, just like with 9-11 |
|
As the towers fell, so falls the economy. Osama is still out there, and bush is still here.
He didn't feel the need to warn us or save us then, he won't now.

19. Yes, exactly! Except this time it's all of us going down in flames. |
|
Mr Nay and I are just sick this evening, after reading that this monster bailout is being backed by the nation's GOLD. They're stealing our GOLD now, folks!!! That's it! We're done. All that remains is to see exactly how bad a depression this is going to be. Damn, wish I'd been able to convince Mr Nay to buy that little in-town farm...

9. This why the Bankruptcy Bill was passed. |
|
the day they passed that atrocity I started changing how I prepare for the future. I doubt anything I did will do me much good if it gets bad enough but at least the house and everything else I own are free and clear. I have no debt of any kind effective this past June and I have a year's worth of basic food supplies and drinking water. I have managed to get most of my back yard fixed up with veggie garden space, a killer compost pile and built the knowledge of a variety of things I can grow well that produce their own seeds (took a long time to locate vintage plants)
That said, I have very little in savings. I can pay the bills for 6 month with no income, a little longer if I use no electronic except for cooking. We have also discussed my bother's family moving here to live with us since Georgia is cheaper to live than Pennsylvania.

27. Is it possible to put some of the blame on the people who write |
|
and pass the various acts, laws, bills, etc that allowed the mortgage problems to occur? All a president does is propose stuff, and then sign or veto stuff. But no, all these same congress people will probably be reelected in November, secure in the knowledge that they can continue to do shit and the president (whoever he or she is) will get the blame.
Is it also possible to put some of the mortgage problem at the feet of the people who bought stuff that they could not pay for? Houses at an extremely low beginning variable interest rate with a payment that stretched their existing income and would far exceed it when the rate increased? People who got these low beginning interest loans with no down payment, no credit history, no employment history?
And you get a free kick without having to type in a string of * or ? or anything.

29. Then there will be no blame placed at your feet, huh. But there |

are countless others who have lost or are losing their homes because they did exactly that. And so the little snowball begins to roll down the slope. Then, here we are.
