First, we (the taxpayers), are bailing out these corporations. So far, the tab is 900 billion dollars.

Second, we will hold the assets to these companies. As they are sold, the taxpayers will be paid back some of that 900 billion dollars.

Now, my point: how few pennies on the dollar does the Bush cabal think they will be able to sell these assets to their friends? After almost destroying our economy and sticking our grandkids with a huge debt, these suckers could quite possibly sell these assets to their friends in no bid situations. It's just another reason for their desperation to hold onto power, imo.

Doncha' just love it?

1. As Condi Rice says, every situation yields opportunities.
This is just another reason to get the Carlyle Group out of the US Govt.

2. That's my fear too. If they steal another election, we'll never
have that money returned to the treasury.

3. The artificial rise in the Dow today will allow the bums to
make big bucks on the market before it settles and adjusts. It's a racket, and we, the taxpayers, are getting screwed.

5. Disaster Capitalism at its finest.
You got it: they win going in with their fancy investment scams, they get paid off when they go bust, and then they buy up the scraps going out. Ain't the life of a well connected billionaire just grand?

12. Assets? These corporations have no assets! It's the financial sector: their asset is money,
which we're now going to lend to them, because they've pissed all the money they used to have. This is a scheme for keeping the rich from becoming poor, on the assumption that the rich are the source of all our blessings and good forture: watch the bailout money turn into a huge public debt and a number of golden parachutes
