I am a liberal/progressive (e.g. CARE ABOUT PEOPLE AND SEEK SOLUTIONS ADVANCING ALL HUMANITY).

That's not my secret.

Here is my secret: for once in my life, instead of attempting to reach out to certain, very specific people, I would be happy to spend some time in jail after punching them right in the smacker!!!!

It's not funny!!! Okay, it SEEMS funny except,...I am allowing those people to control me rather than me being in control of myself.

If I run across Limbaugh or Coulter, Cheney or Rove, ANY FOX network whore,...I can NOT guarantee self-control. I am a strong person. However, IF I ever ran across any of those people, the satisfaction of punching them, just once, may well serve every frustration I've suffered for the rest of my life.

Is that bad? I'm sorry. I remember the playground bullies and THEY NEVER STOPPED UNTIL THEY WERE STOPPED! *frown* Seriously! This one girl (OMG, YES,...her name was Sue Ella) harassed and thumped on me until the day I fought back. She was three times my size (LITERALLY). Apparently, I impacted her enough for her to be my buddy later on (best friends for awhile).

I DID NOT WANT TO FIGHT,...I had to!!! I have mass as a human being (physically, emotionally and spiritually). I want to use it; all of it!

5. You know, I'll admit ...

I'm 40-something mom of two kids. I'm in pretty good shape thanks to regular workouts, and my biceps are starting to get a little definition, but I look fairly harmless. I've never hit anyone in my life, except my sister when we were kids (and that was mostly hair-pulling). But ... In the past several years of living through Bushco., I can't even describe the scenarios that have been flowing through my mind regarding people like Cheney, Bush, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, Hume, Beck (Glenn, that is, not the talented musician), Coulter, Palin, McCain, Savage, Dobson, Robertson, etc. etc. etc. I can't describe the scenarios, because it would get me banned from DU, and I can't have that.

8. *smile* I shared a dream with my son about actually thumping on these people.

I told him how it woke me up, with my chest VISIBLY pounding.

He knows how I abhor all forms of violence and said, "I'm sorry" (trying to comfort my discomfort).

I told him how weird it was; the experience of asserting protection against people hurting me or those I love along with the aftermath of hurting them back.

I felt no regret defending myself or loved others against attackers; but felt bad for what the offenders suffered in the process (and, in my dreams, they SUFFERED, mightily).

Well, I am tired of the oppression in all forms. In my dreams, I get to be courageous and valiant and a true hero. In real life, I get to be a member of the powerless class until more people, a mass, decide to overcome.

10. I suppose it would be better to do as he did and escape.

I love Ghandi.

He hid to escape and carry on the spiritualism contained in his beliefs.

But, if impotence leads to destruction of the spiritualism he possessed, how would he judge my wanting a one time punch to the face of those who seek to destroy me or him or anyone outside their framework of life?

Is THAT violence in the heart or is it the SOUL defending against VIOLENCE?

I love Ghandi. He exercised the level of DEFENSE necessary, in his time and succeeded, as did others. However, more revolutionary skills will have to be advanced against this "global market" (e.g. HUMAN GODS OVER THE EARTH). Presently, it seems Ghandi's hopes are as LOST as those of any human being hoping for "democracy".

Perhaps, a global movement FOR REAL DEMOCRACY will punch the faces of the profiteers. But, I have my doubts.

We will see who wins the battle for humanity. Fortunately, we can not only choose sides but choose service to more than ourselves.

7. I too have feelings of anger that almost feel too intense for words alone.

Shouting at the news does not seem to be cutting it for me. I want to take physical action! When I see Palin on televising or on my computer screen, I make a clawing motion, or ping her in the forehead. (Yes, it does look as ridiculous as it sounds.) I really need to find a way to release this anger, physically. And like you, I honestly cannot say that should one of these reprehensible creatures cross my path, I would be able to "use my words" and not take a swipe or two. Hard to admit that, since I have been pretty dedicated to teaching nonviolent communication, compassion and empathy to my students.
