This is totally off the wall bizarre
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 09:08 PM by obamaforme
Olberman told us this evening that Palin proclaimed in church that her pastor, Muthee, who apparently was a witch hunter in Africa, is responsible for her success by praying for her to become Governor of Alaska. The good pastor was responsible for a woman to be branded a witch in her town in Africa and forced her to leave town. Palin is is really very weird. Can the McCain campaign get any more bizarre than this?

Just imagine this woman in the White House. God help us.

2. I keep thinking the world can't get any stranger
and then it does. Weirdness is the only thing I take for granted.

3. He didn't just pray all mamby pamby like
Oh, please God if it's your will (tm) but noooooo, he just up and demanded it! Shouting LORD MAKE A WAY!!! LORD MAKE A WAY!!!

Which also nicely demonstrates that the way to request a favor from an omnipotent entity is to get in its face, so to speak.

4. No, this is far worse than "bizarre", what we're dealing with here is out & out EVIL.
Seriously. Read this article -- THIS is what "witch hunters" foment. THIS is what "pro-life" Palin's pastor is about:

Children are targets of Nigerian witch hunt

Evangelical pastors are helping to create a terrible new campaign of violence against young Nigerians. Children and babies branded as evil are being abused, abandoned and even murdered while the preachers make money out of the fear of their parents and their communities.

The rainy season is over and the Niger Delta is lush and humid. This southern edge of West Africa, where Nigeria's wealth pumps out of oil and gas fields to bypass millions of its poorest people, is a restless place. In the small delta state of Akwa Ibom, the tension and the poverty has delivered an opportunity for a new and terrible phenomenon that is leading to the abuse and the murder of hundreds, perhaps thousands, of children. And it is being done in the name of Christianity.

<snip>

Although old tribal beliefs in witch doctors are not so deeply buried in people's memories, and although there had been indigenous Christians in Nigeria since the 19th century, it is American and Scottish Pentecostal and evangelical missionaries of the past 50 years who have shaped these fanatical beliefs. Evil spirits, satanic possessions and miracles can be found aplenty in the Bible, references to killing witches turn up in Exodus, Deuteronomy and Galatians, and literal interpretation of scriptures is a popular crowd-pleaser.

Please read the whole article. We need to spread the word that THIS is the kind of "Christianity" that Palin represents.

8. I'm so glad to know that someone read my post! Thank you!
I am planning on making it an OP, probably in the GD-P forum. I've been busy trying to find out more information about the pastor, Muthee, in order to include it in what I write.

9. Former WI GOP Rep. Mark Green who ignored WI election officials demands
to return out of state campaign funds when he declared candidacy for Gov. was appointed US Ambassador to Tanzania by his DECIDER-Tanzania is the leading exporter of human skin used by some practitioners of the "dark arts". Mark Green was the Rep. that sponsored making the DECIDER's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives a permanent one.

A lot of Christians have left the RW churches and oppose politicized wingnuts that are part of Bush's dominionist fascist religious base that are actually led by people into the dark arts/evil.

12. Nothing quite like the 'Christian Republican'....
Nancy Reagan consulted an astrologer, now Palin and her witch doctor.

Who knows, maybe a witch doctor is what we need to combat the end result of Reagan's Voodoo economics.

I say we get Muthee's a** back here for the opening bell on Wall Street Monday morning and see if he can fix that without a taxpayer bailout.
