This new Paulson program is much like Hoover's Reconstruction Finance Corporation.

I think we really can put a entity like this one to use under an Obama administration. We can use it to finance alternative energy programs, cleaning up the subprime mess and much, MUCH more.

FDR kept RFC and expanded it after Hoover left office.
