comedy shows (Limbaugh, Medved, etc.) and was SHOCKED at all the DIRT they supposedly have on Obama. Stuff I hadn't heard about. They cannot understand why McCain isn't using this stuff. These guys would be scary if their FEAR wasn't so obvious.

Obama is supposedly 25% Arab. The local wingnut station loves spreading that one.

Faux News is hyping this series about Ayers and 'other radicals' (ZOMG! :eyes: ) that Obama has 'connections' with. I hope he DOES have something because this endless refrain is becoming maddening. I STILL hear from my relatives (almost all republican, almost all the time) about how horrible Obama has to be to sit in a church where a preacher yells GD America. A peep about Palin's church? "Oh I haven't heard that. That sounds like something you read on the internet." And the media is liberal. Yah, my ass it is. :sarcasm: :argh:

5. The Ultimate Kitchen Sink... |

Yes, I do see it coming and anyone else here who doesn't is wearing blinders. As the GOOP becomes more desperate, so will their attacks and sliming to keep their base as energized as possible and try to distract from the key issues.
It doesn't matter if Obama lived with Wright and Ayers...in right wing bizzaro world, the associations are as sinister as they can be...the emails have been flying relentlessly and it's still a hot topic on hate radio. It never went away, just under the radar as other distrations have been thrown.
Remember, Wright is the symbolic "angry black man"...the ultimate boogie man to the "low information voters"...by using Wright as a cover, one can justify not voting for Obama based on "religious philosophy" rather than the true racist nature (since many of these same asshats still believe Obama is a Muslim).
Ayers is the "commie"...the radical...the stereotype of the wild-eyed hippies like Clinton...the "libbies" over-runing the government and ready to socialize everything in sight. While Wright got a lot of media traction, Ayers, not so much...as the fear of the angry black man trumps the hippie.

I think most of us can see it coming, but...I have to admit I hadn't made the collective association of everything the right fears (ie the 'angry black man' and 'commie' at the same time). I had thought myself a bit more aware than that.
The Sum of All Fears, brought to you by the McCain Organization of Republican Operation Narratives, or M.O.R.O.N. for short.

My reference is the 1983 Chicago Mayoral election...where Harold Washington united the blacks, hispanics and liberals to beat the "machine" in the primaries and then a dirty Repugnican campaign after that. In the final weeks, the slogan they used was "before it's too late". I'm waiting for that one to happen.
It's easy to get distractions confused...that's the intention...try to make one smear blend into another...all for a visceral reaction. Sadly, there will be a lot of people who should vote for Senator Obama but won't because of his skin color...and it's a sad fact to face, but also there's a positive side. I never thought in my life that I'd see a black or woman candidate rise to such prominance...and that there are more of us who have overcome the racist and sexist barriers that we can and will win.
Cheers...
