Since 2006, when the Democratic Party....
...narrowly won the majority in Congress, was there any legislation brought forward that tried to address and forestall this financial mess we are in right now?
Did it get out of committee. filibuster, etc??

I know the Republicans have filibustered a record amount of times.
Wouldn't it be a great campaign point if there was Democratic legislation that Republicans stalled that would have helped reverse and help head-off this mess?

I want to write an article if this comes together.

Anyone have any helpful links?

Thanks
