where it's going and where it's not but in the sense of the congress today they know that they are very very hungry domestic markets that need that oil first so i believe that what congress is gonna do also is not to allow the export bans to such a degree that it's americans who get stuck holding the bag without the energy source that is produced here or pumped here--it's gotta flow into our domestic markets first." ~~sarah palin

wolf blitzer: "alright, i'm not exactly... easy to understand what she was saying..."

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS WOMAN TALKING ABOUT?? IS SHE HIGH???

randi rhodes: "and people are actually mulling this over--they actually have something to think about...they have to consider it...really?"
(more hysterical laughter from randi and crew)

randi played this a couple times near the end of her show on friday--telling the audience to go get your friends so they can hear it because she was going to play it again after the break--which she did.

1. I'm having a flashback to Miss Teen South Carolina.
I recognize all the words, but the context is DOA.

2. Yep. Yep. The shine has worn off this cheap bauble.
Kevin Drum writes:

PALIN WITHOUT A PROMPTER....PART 7....Have I used up my quota of two Sarah Palin references today? No? Then check out this phenomenal answer she offered up at a townhall meeting today about — well, I'm not sure what it's about. But it's energy related in some way:

"Of course, it's a fungible commodity and they don't flag, you know, the molecules, where it's going and where it's not. But in the sense of the Congress today, they know that there are very, very hungry domestic markets that need that oil first. So, I believe that what Congress is going to do also, is not to allow the export bans to such a degree that it's Americans who get stuck holding the bag without the energy source that is produced here, pumped here. It's got to flow into our domestic markets first."

Be sure to click on the video (at first link above) to see the whole thing. It's priceless watching Wolf Blitzer tactfully admit that it's "not exactly easy to understand what she was saying" before he tries to tease out the "nuggets" in her answer. You almost feel sorry for him.

Sounds like another beauty pageant answer:

Questioner: Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can’t locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?

- Miss South Carolina, Lauren Caitlin Upton:

“I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uhmmm, some people( I swear she said Osama), out there in our nation don’t have maps and uh, I believe that our, I, education like such as uh, South Africa, and uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uhhh, our education over here in the US should help the U.S., uh, should help South Africa, it should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for us.”

This video says so much about the public school system in South Carolina

What has become of America?

8. That's expert talk.
You don't have to understand expert talk to see that she knows how to talk the oil jargon talk. When someone uses technical words, like molecules and fungibles, the experts sit up and take notice. They know that even though she's just a beauty queen turned politician, they're in the presence of a quick study.
