The financial showdown this week will be nothing more than a huge game of "chicken." |

The world's economy is teetering on the brink; see who blinks first in the next several days.
Although it's not as simple as Dems vs. Republicans (White House, Congress, Fed, Treasury Dep't), who here isn't worried that the Dems will capitulate first without getting much in return?

Bush already announced yesterday in his usual swagger that Congress needs to act fast and NOT add anything 'controversial' (ie; only bail out Wall St, not Main St).
If Congress gets bogged down due to veto threats and Republican obstruction, the market will tank due to the uncertainty and McSame/Bush will blame the Democratic Congress. Basically Congress has allowed itself to be held hostage by Wall St.

2. I don't worry about it at all |

I don't worry about us capitulating w/o getting much in return. Truly that is a misplaced concern, a needless apprehension. After watching our "representatives" in action I regard that as a foregone conclusion.

Unless something changes dramatically very soon, the Democrats are certain to capitulate without getting anything in return. No need to wonder about that.
