That must mean that our betters have decided that it is time for us to quaff the nepenthe' and put the troubles out of our minds!

How considerate of them. I am sure they, on the other hand, are forging ahead with their plans to steal the treasure of the nation.

5. College football my ass
There is an infomercial on CBS and golf on NBC. Football is on ABC.
I do not remember a time EVER that there was no news on broadcast tv.

7. Who needs news? Bread & circus for the populace.
It's not like we're in the middle of the biggest financial meltdown ever. :sarcasm:

Same thing here, all sports.

9. I'm sick of all corporate news
All the shit on all the networks is the same. I occasionally watch MSNBC, KO, Matthews, Maddow. But I rarely get my news anymore from teevee.

10. I don't rely on corporate news to get all my news
But I like to watch it and compare with what I get via internet. We don't have cable tv where I am in the Great North woods so when broadcast tv news goes missing it creeps me out.

12. I understand
I went without cable for nearly three years. I also went without internet for nearly the same length of time. It's a wonder I knew what the hell was going on.
