Someone stopped by and was looking at the dogs for adoption. When approaching Danny's pen the comment was made "Look at that ugly dog with that stupid toy in his mouth. He'll never get a home. Should think about euthanizing that one".

but she's a lot bigger than the usual size. She came from the pound so I really can't be sure. They had her labeled as a pit mix, which looks right, except that she's much smaller-boned than pits. She's almost all white, but she has brown spots on her ears and just a couple of (hardly visible) spots on her skin and belly.

I've seen mixed breeds with short haired varieties of terrier in them before that favored pits, but I knew darn well they didn't have any in them. That is why I don't think sally has any pitbull in her.

Your description of her sounds just like Frankie, and that picture you posted looks like her when she's excited to see someone or do something she likes. Her ears go back and she gets that eager "please look at me!" look.

I guess the breed mystery continues! About once a year I think I've figured it out, then I change my mind the next time I see a breed that reminds me of Frankie in some way.
