Just being. How does that look to you? |
|
Mine is doing my mosaics. little worlds being put in piece by piece. I sometimes go into portholes. I call them port holes. I really mean portals. Time, place, self, thought are not present. There is no me. It's very fleeting. Other portholes are thought, emotion, inner dialog. From the outside it looks like I'm just gluing glass down. When the pieces are complete, I like to do what I call, "tripping out" and all of these pieces of glass form into something I can name, face, tree, street, depth. What I mean is what is it that you do to disappear and reappear in your lives? When do you hang your face out in the warm sun and close your eyes and hang out there for awhile?

hang my face out in the warm sun, close my eyes, and hang out. :)
Or I drown in music for a while...

3. I knit, embroider and crochet. |

Sometimes I listen to music (prefer classical, Renaissance, Baroque, that kind of stuff). It calms me down a great deal.
Last year I had a coworker I did not like very well. So I knit her a scarf. It's not possible, at least for me it's not possible, to knit something for someone and not think good thoughts about them. I'm not capable of knitting anger and dislike into something. By the time the scarf was done I was getting along with her much better. I left the job about four months later, right around the time I was needing to knit her another scarf.

Just in the last couple of years I've discovered that if I don't like someone, I need to try harder. I never thought of knitting them something, though. Awesome!

breathe and remember. Walking helps with this. As does sound, especially music.

to me. I play my music or I sit on this farm that I made what it is by myself against all the odds. My productive farm and my animals. Me and the earth, I call it mine but it really isn't, it is a part of the whole and I am just lucky enough to be able to be on it.
