Time magazine's coverage of Hurricane Ike.
Edited on Sat Sep-20-08 08:47 PM by tannybogus
Texas COASTAL FURY Hurricane Ike slammed into Galveston (above), and ensuing winds and rainfall drifted up through Texas and north into the Midwest, killing at least 51 people in 10 states and leaving millions without power. Heavy rains caused flooding along the banks of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. In Texas, thousands of residents crowded into shelters and hotel rooms paid for by fema, many expecting to stay for weeks. Throughout the region, evacuees waited in long lines for food, water and gas.

This is all. There was one photo. They couldn't spare even a page for the mess down there and what people are going through.

Bah!! Cancelling my subscription. I saw more coverage in news crawlers on tv. They treated the Midwest floods as if Noah was there.

Now don't get me wrong. The Midwest floods deserved the coverage, but they treated Ike like it was a thunderstorm.

2. saw a video the other
day with the one member of the Texas press questioning the Governor about why the press were being denied access. First the Governor said it was the local government that wasn't letting the press in, then he said it was the feds. They still weren't letting them even fly over. I don't know if that's changed yet.
