A funny thought for those of you familiar with southern history
My people came to this country two and a half centuries ago as indentured servants, doing their 7 years for James Oglethorpe, and here I am now, back in the same boat so to speak. If you don't want to cry you have to laugh.

4. Thanks for the tip but...
I know about James Oglethorpe. The pic I posted is from the movie Slap Shot(1977).This guy's name is

Ogie Oglethorpe:

"Jim Carr: This young man has had a very trying rookie season, what with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him...Well, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle. Number six, Ogie Oglethorpe."

After the announcement one of the player of Paul Newman's team says with fear: "Oglethorpe ?" :)

3. And the South has always had a class system
with the upper classes intent on keeping the lower classes subservient and ignorant. They did this by not encouraging public education and by introducing racism into the mix. The modern GOP is trying to do the same thing nationwide with their "No Child Left Behind" garbage and their catering to bigotry and intolerance.
