'Meet the Press' on in Central Time Zone. I started to watch
and two minutes in I'm raging mad. I had to turn it off.

1. It's on?
Our local NBC channel has 3-2-1 Penguins and some other cartoon show.

3. Brokaw has really made me appreciate Tim Russert.
I'm a bit biased, maybe, because Brokaw's look and demeanor perfectly mirror my dad when he was in the arrogant and belligerent phase of drunkenness.

5. It's true. I was hard on Tim when he died, but I can see the loss now
I often felt like Russert was too deferent to Republicans, too willing to ignore real stories in favor of some gotcha quote. But Brokaw as replacement makes me ill. He has none of the bulldoggedness that Russert had, and is more fawning over Republicans than Russert ever was. I think if Russert were still around today, Sarah Palin would've HAD to come on MTP to legitimize herself, and Russert would've chomped into her like a steak. We're poorer for his loss.

4. Always a bad idea to turn that show on
Seriously.

The very best you'll get is misinformed.
