We used to have posters here who thought that was a great idea. They used to compare the return in the stock market to criticize their return people get from Social Security. They thought they were going to get rich like the fat cats. :)

And they very well might have made some money on paper before the sharks took it all back. At least they would have let you look at the statements for a while before the stole it. Awfully big of them, huh?

I don't see that kind of stuff posted here any more. Has anyone reconsidered their position on this?

Don

I already have enough invested in stocks through 401k plans and self-directed IRAs.

I am 50 years old. Eggs, baskets.

3. (shrug) They're the same people who thought GAWD DECREES real estate always increases in value....
But you'll never get idiots to admit that they're wrong. It's very hard to get an idiot to stop being an idiot.

4. The events of the last week are the number one reason why it is a bad idea
I believed it when it was proposed by the bu$h regime, I still believe it. I will always hold that view point.

This week should have been proof enough to forever keep the RepubliCONs from privatizing and stealing our Social Security.

And now we hear that Gramps McCain said that doing the same deregulation as the banking sector to health care (for those who have it) is a great idea. :banghead:

6. I , like most SS recipients
can not afford to gamble with my benefits. I am one SS check away from living with my kids and that is a fate I do NOT savor no matter how much I love them , and they love me.
