Absolute doom and gloom. He basically said that we face 2 decades of pain and a 40% loss in the value of our money.

How credible is this guy? I know he was a Nixon man and he's now a disaffected Republican.

1. He's honest--no axes to grind--but not omniscient.
Nevertheless, I think he's right on this one. But, then, I've been feeling this build for a long time. Years. The fundamentals, not just of the market, but of the economy, and of the society as a whole, are all very wrong. If one conceives of the species (or even the whole biosphere) as a single organism, then many of our social institutions are like cancerous organs, dedicated only to their own unbridled growth and heedlessly releasing toxins into the rest of the body.

It will be that if we actually vote to make ourselves a western nation instead of a banana republic. Otherwise, we will lose our coastal cities AND our wheat belt with nothing to fall back on. That's millions of lives lost, and millions more homeless.

And you were just worrying about your 401k. Don't. We have no manufacturing. If we don't bring back steel and our tool and die industries, we can't make anything anyway, without going into more debt to foreign creditors. We have NOTHING TO RECOVER WITH which makes this depression way different from the last one.

AND STILL NOBODY TALKS ABOUT AN INFRASTRUCTURE JOBS PROGRAM THAT WILL PUT AMERICANS TO WORK.

Not enough pink slips yet? Wait.

3. No, But I'm watching Paulson on Mete the Press and am certain this is a scam of
of grand proportion. Brokaw suggested as Warren Buffet suggested, that there be an independent group to
oversee exactly what they're asking for. Once again we're getting the bums rush, just like the rush into Iraq.

Paulson insists he needs the money this week or the sky will fall. Buffet is suggesting Bloomberg oversee the
independent group.

5. He wrote "Wealth and Democracy- A Political History of the American Rich".
I'm listening to it on CD when I am the car. Informative, and it gives a good perspective of how wealth is concentrated and redistributed.

The wealthy GOPers decry the redistribution of wealth, but what they work for is a redistribution from the working and middle classes to them. It is the "It's ALL mine" philosophy.

10. Yes. I downloaded it.
Watched it twice. It got worst the more I watched it. Bottom line. The people at the bottom don't mean shit. Not to the pubs, not to the dems. They're only in it for themselves.
