a raving lunatic who believes his word is omnipotent. Let me add that he is articulate and has quite a lot of knowledge on global issues. Sure understands Chinese history. An old power revived.

He turned an impoverished port into one of the world's most affluent city-states.

Of course he did benefit from Singapore being an intransit stop during the Vietnam War. He does fascinate because he is so knowledgeable.
